Intensive Seminar in Brussels and Luxembourg is a part of European Studies Masters Programme at the University of Latvia. The aim of the Seminar is to deepen and broaden the knowledge about the EU by visiting key EU institutions and NATO which is a great opportunity to have briefings by representatives of the main institutions and participate in discussions with international experts and officials on current EU issues.

The Intensive Seminar in Brussels  and Luxembourg was held on  took place from 10-15 November, 2013.

This year students visited NATO, the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg, European Commission, European Parliament, The Committee of the Regions and other key EU institutions.

The group was also invited to attend the Global Jean Monnet Conference 2013 in Brussels. It was an unique opportunity to listen to speeches by Mr José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission (EC); Mr Jan Truszczyński,  EC Director General for Education and Culture; Mr. Jean McCormick, Jean Monnet Professor of EU Politics in the Department of Political Science at the Indianapolis campus of Indiana University (United States).
