We cordially invite to a guest lecture-discussion about the EU Trade Policy and the process of adoption of EU trade and investment agreements by Dr. Jolana MUNGENGOVÁ, Cabinet of Cecilia Malmström, Commissioner for Trade of the European Commission. The lecture will take place on June 1, 2015. 17:30 – 18:30, at the Small Hall of the University of Latvia (Raiņa boulevard 19). Working language of the guest lecture-discussion – English.

The event is organized by University of Latvia (UL) European Studies Master Programme in close cooperation with UL Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, Doctoral School "European Integration and Baltic Sea Region Studies (EIBSRS)" and Representation of the European Commission in Latvia as well as Cabinet of Cecilia Malmström, Commissioner for Trade of the European Commission.

During the lecture Ms. Jolana MUNGENGOVÁ will focus on process of adoption of EU trade and investment agreements, using the TTIP as an example, and on the interplay between the actors participating in the given adoption process, and values that EU promote throughout it. The introductory lecture will be followed by questions and answers session.

Ms. Jolana Mungengová works for Cabinet of EU Trade Commissioner, Ms. Cecilia Malström, European Commission. Her daily work relates to trade in media, cultural goods and services, dialogue with civil society and relations with national parliaments in the areas of regional policy, employment, social affairs, skills and labour mobility, education and other areas. Ms. Jolana Mungengová obtained Ph.D. in Political Science with specialisation in Comparative Politics, Public Policy, and Eastern Europe in Boston University, U.S.A.
