Doctoral studies

The key purpose of the Doctoral School of the University of Latvia (UL) is to supervise the implementation of all doctoral study programmes of UL and ensure the process of acquiring the doctorate, promote the career development of young researchers, monitor and improve the quality of doctoral studies, as well as promote international cooperation. The new model of doctoral studies, which will be gradually introduced at UL by the end of 2026, envisages the transition to doctoral studies with employment and enhancing the interdisciplinarity of studies.
