Law firm "Skrastiņš un Dzenis" was founded in 2001. That moment was the time of opportunity, growth, challenge and transformation. The law firm has been successfully operating in its field for 20 years, providing legal services not only to local clients, but also in cooperation with the law firm's partners in Lithuania and Estonia, providing legal assistance to foreign clients.

The comments of Chapters 1–28 of the Civil Procedure Law in a separate book were first published in 2011. Since the publication of this book, the Civil Procedure Law has been amended with more than 20 laws. All these many amendments have been adopted with the aim of improving the procedure for resolving civil disputes, most of which are considered significant. In the period until the end of 2015, the Constitutional Court has also assessed the compliance of the norms of the Civil Procedure Law, including the norms incorporated in this part of the comments, with the Constitution in several cases. Also, within 5 years the practice of application of civil procedural law norms has developed, jurisprudence has also made a significant contribution to both the application of the norms of the Constitution and other laws, and to the promotion of comprehension of the content of international law and European Union law. These books will now be available to law students at their library.

Law firm "Skrastiņš un Dzenis" donates funds in the amount of EUR 8,828.60. The purpose of the donation is to support LU JF bachelor's students starting from the 2nd year, with a scholarship of EUR 3,000 for the academic year, EUR 4,000 for the 1st and 2nd year master's students for the academic year, as well as donating EUR 1,026 to the book “Comments on Civil Procedure Law. Part I (Chapter 1.-28.)”. It will be possible to apply for scholarships for the new academic year from September 6 of this year at www.fonds.lv .

The main partners of the law firm “Skrastiņš un Dzenis” are LU graduates, and they emphasize that the university is one of the best educational institutions that prepares specialists in this field, and that is why it would be important to support new LU JF students with scientific literature during the learning process.
