The beginning of undergraduate studies for many talented young people is a particularly pleasant event, enhanced by the scholarships of the UL Foundation patrons – “Ceļamaize” / Bread for the Journey” (12), M. M. V. Petkevičs Memorial Scholarship (15), Latgale’s “Ceļamaize” / “Bread for the Journey” (2) Engure Municipality Scholarship (2), Jelgava Municipality Scholarship (3), and Salaspils Municipality Scholarship (2).
This year saw the largest number of applications in recent years. Out of 116 applicants, 55 were invited to the next selection round – face-to-face interview.

Scholarship “Ceļamaize” / “Bread for the Journey”, patron Andrejs Jurgens (1939–2010) and campaign donors. For the first year, the UL Foundation has opened a new support programme, awarding a scholarship for the entire duration of bachelor's studies. While maintaining excellent results, young people will receive a scholarship for three consecutive years.
