Keynote speakers Michael L. Mathews from the Oral Roberts University, US and Gabriel Philippe from the University of Montpellier in France shared experience-based inspirational stories about the implementation of technology in education as well as demonstrations of latest technology.
At the ATEE Spring Conference in 2019, several companies from Latvia who work with technology and their adaptation to the learning environment on a daily basis shared their experiences, demonstrating and allowing those interested to try out the opportunities offered by virtual and augmented reality, as well as learn more about innovative digital learning materials, training management systems, and training platforms.
During the conference, companies talked about the opportunities offered by virtual reality (VR) in the learning environment, such as VR medical training simulator for combat medics (Exonicus, Inc.), VR education system “The AI-Enabled MQ-Mirror” (Oral Roberts University), VR technology games for education (Portal Virtual Reality Riga), as well as VR set “ClassVR” (Officeday Latvia). Companies also drew attention to digital learning platforms and materials for everyday use at schools (Uzdevumi.lv, Soma.lv), digital tools for special education (Vividly), as well as company research and future vision on the role of technology in education and learning content development (Accenture Latvia , Zvaigzne ABC, Etwinning Latvia, FasterCourse).
