From March 1 to March 3, the pupils – prospective students, as well as other inquisitive visitors will have an opportunity to enjoy versatile entertainment offered by the University of Latvia (UL) at the exhibition "School 2018", simultaneously learning more about the extensive and varied study opportunities at the 13 faculties, regional branches and colleges of the UL.

This year, UL will offer the visitors of the exhibition positive emotions and alternative content, providing a wide range of information encompassing every interest and each UL study programme.

Just like the last year, visitors will have a chance to participate in the activities at the recreation area of the UL stand. The novelties include Radio NABA studio, where DJs will operate from the very opening of the exhibition to its conclusion, holding competitions, interviewing the organizers of the exhibition, the UL Rector and visitors. Every day of the exhibition from 10:00 to13:00, radio broadcasts will be transmitted via FM waves, www.naba.lv and mobile apps. The programme will be broadcast live during the entire duration of the exhibition. Activities of the radio station will encompass competitions, where visitors will win valuable musical prizes.

The participants of the UL student programme "Kivi TV" will film the event, converse with the visitors and operate their own studio in the active area of the UL stand, where the videos filmed on the spot will be assembled and immediately presented on the displays.

Just like every year, the active area of the UL stand will provide the visitors of the exhibition with a chance to recline on comfortable beanbags and enjoy a leisurely atmosphere, charge their mobile devices, while testing the 3D game offered by the UL and filling out the test “Study yourself”. A snapshot taken during the visit will be a neat keepsake from the exhibition.

During the exhibition, group tours will be hosted by the UL Academic Centre both at the House of Nature and the newly constructed House of Science with prior registration. Within the schedule of 40 to 60 minutes, the guides will introduce visitors to the amenities of the study and research buildings, modern laboratories, and provide answers to the questions.

It should be emphasized that these events and activities are an exciting supplement to the main theme – the extensive informative offer about studies at the University of Latvia that will be shared by teaching staff and students of all the 13 faculties, as well as the representatives of regional branches and UL colleges. This year, secondary school pupils will learn more about scholarships, sports, student self-government activities, involvement in the UL Business Incubator and much more that will make the upcoming studies at the University of Latvia a memorable lifetime experience!
