The University of Latvia (UL) Library Quiet Reading Room (Raiņa bulvāris 19, room 203) in the framework of National Month of Novel Writing on October 27 and November 24 invites everyone to start or continue to write their work – a novel, enjoying creative company.
The National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is an activity that has been taking place globally, including Latvia in November for over 10 years. It is not intended only to professional writers but to all those interested, aiming to produce a 50 000-word novel in a month. It is an opportunity to either commence or carry on creative writing in a welcoming company, even though despite the writing process is usually perceived as a lonely occupation. This year, the NaNoWriMo month’s events are planned at the UL Library and Riga Central Library.
The National Novel Writing Month is supported by the UL Library through a series of activities: the first meeting of the event will take place at the cosy rooms of UL Library in the very centre of Riga – Raiņa bulvāris 19, where each participant will enjoy the atmosphere of a classical academic reading room. Perhaps this will help those present not only to focus on their work but also provide creative inspiration. The first NaNoWriMo monthly meeting will be launched on October 27, 12:00 with activity "Attraction" in the Quiet Reading Room, while on November 24, 10:00 will start the seven hours long "Grand Writing Marathon". The closing of the event will take place on December 1 from 14:00
