The University of Latvia (UL) continues to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and will carry on providing financial support in the spring semester of 2024/2025 to those Ukrainian citizens studying and working at UL, who have emigrated from Ukraine or who cannot return to their homeland.

UL grants students from Ukraine 100% relief on tuition fees for the spring semester of the academic year 2024/2025, as well as 100% relief on rent in UL service hotels.

The University invites Ukrainian scientists, whose research has been disrupted by the war, to continue their work in Latvia. For this purpose, support funding has been allocated until 31 December 2025.

“The University of Latvia stands firmly with the Ukrainian people, and will continue to do so. I am truly grateful to the entire UL community for their involvement in fulfilling this pledge to date, and the human support provided to Ukrainian colleagues and students. Let us continue to be united, strong and invincible in the future! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!” asserted UL Rector Professor Gundars Bērziņš.
