The goal of the “Green HExagon” program is to create meaningful and sustainable ideas for future startups. Participants will have the opportunity to gain experience from international mentors and experts, as well as create multi-disciplinary teams with participants from other countries. At the end of the program, ideas will be presented at the final event, where the jury will select their favorites and award grants for idea development to the best teams.
Students, graduates, employees, and researchers from the University of Latvia (Latvia), Riga Stradins University (Latvia), the University of Tartu (Estonia), and the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt (Austria) are invited to participate, as well as teams where at least half of the members represent these universities. Participants must have a business idea that is connected to at least one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The “Green HExagon” program will take place online over four months, from February to June, 2025. During this time, participants, guided by experienced instructors, will explore topics such as idea generation, market research, business and financial models, marketing, product or service design, and pitching skills. Additionally, several online networking and mentoring events will be organized during the training period.
The "Green Hexagon" project was co-funded by the Erasmus+ program under the initiative “Entrepreneurial Teaching Partnerships for Fostering Innovation and Green Startup Development in Higher Education” (Project No. 2022-1-LV01-KA220-HED-000090176) from November 2022 to November 2024. The project was implemented by University of Latvia (UL), University of Tartu (UT), Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) and the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt (FHWN). To ensure sustainability and ongoing impact of the project results, FHWN, UL and UT will continue running the jointly developed pre-incubation programme also in the coming years. They will be joined by Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) as from December 2024.
