On 6 November, the first FORTHEM Researcher Grand Prix competition, inspired by the Norwegian science festival “Forskningsdagene”, at 20:00 will open its doors. This exciting competition is organized by the University of Agder in Norway, and the University of Latvia (UL) and city of Riga will be represented there by two talented UL researchers – Imants Krēziņš and Ineta Liepiņa.

Imants’ research is focused on measuring the efficiency of business incubators, while Ineta explores the ecology of cyanobacteria in the Gulf of Riga, which is an important aspect of Latvia’s natural resources.

The overall competition involves six young researchers – the representatives of FORTHEM alliance universities from Latvia, Poland, Germany, Finland, Norway and France. The task of each participant is to give an engaging and compelling presentation of their research in four minutes, and to win the attention of the jury as well as the online audience and event attendees. The winner will be determined by the votes of the jury and the audience.

We invite all UL students and science enthusiasts to join the online event: HERE. Let’s support our researchers in this international event and vote for their presentations!
