The project titled “Kapuscinski lectures”, from the name of Ryszard Kapuscinski, the prominent Polish reporter and writer, will be organized jointly by the European Commission, United Nations Development Programme and partner universities.

Best experts from around the world will deliver lectures on development and development cooperation at universities of 12 European Union countries.  The lectures will offer students, journalists and larger public from 12 "new" Member States of the European Union an unprecedented opportunity to discuss issues related to development cooperation. These twelve countries have recently become mature donors supporting poorer nations.

„Kapuscinski lectures” series event "European Union’s development cooperation policy and the new donors" will be held October 19, 2009 from 2.00 p.m. until 5.00 p.m. at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Isaiah Berlin auditorium, Lomonosova street 1 A, Riga LV-1019.
