This summer a new board game “Business Time” by Mikus Losans, a student of the UL Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) was presented to the public. Now the first 1000 copies of the game are ready.

The game is based on an economic model and its elements symbolize and have parallels in business reality. It allows the player to act as a company leader through business processes. The game is for players aged 10+ who want to try their hand at entrepreneurship. “Business Time” is the result of two years’ efforts; its making and testing also involved young “Business Time” players who tried out different versions and contributed to the game with their suggestions and ideas. On November 6, 2010 they again come together at FEM to launch this new Latvian product. They will receive ready game parts and complete the end product coming soon to store shelves. The author of the game is fully convinced that Latvia needs a big business boom to sustain human well-being and make people proud of their country. This conviction generated the idea of making a board game to introduce its players with business activities and encourage them to start their own businesses. At first, a limited number of 1000 copies will be on sale. The players of the first copies will be able to participate in elaborating the game by sending their feedbacks, comments and suggestions to the game website: www.LaiksBiznesam.lv., and with joint efforts make the game Latvia’s export product. Mikus Losans intends to win the international market and put the name of Latvia on the map of the board game world.
