The University Library organises a Library Week – “E-resources Days” from 19 April till 23 April. The event will take place at the main building of the library and all the department libraries.

During the “E-resources Days” students, teaching staff and everyone interested can:
  • receive consultations about e-resources,
  • attend presentations about e-resources,
  • participate in competitions and win prizes,
  • get informative materials.
The electronic information resources – e-magazines, e-books and databases, are becoming increasingly important in education and research. Therefore, the aim of the activities is to inform about the electronic information resources available at the UL Library – UL databases, e-books, e-magazines and other resources, their accessibility and terms of use. The University of Latvia has more than 40 subscription databases containing several tens of thousands of e-magazines and e-books. Apart from those, the UL Library constantly offers trial access databases as well as approximately 100 links to free access databases. Union catalog and the UL Library databases provide information about the UL Library fund and UL intellectual property – the dissertations and thesis papers written and presented at the UL and publications of UL teaching staff. During the “E-resources Days” consultations about the usage of e-resources, their availability or any other related questions are offered throughout the week at the UL Library main building as well as in any department library. The times and places of all presentations on e-resources, training and competitions are given in the programme of the event . We invite everyone to participate in the activities to find out more about e-resources and how they can improve studies and research work!
