In April, the first Kurt Hagen’s (the Patron of the UL Foundation) scholarship recipient Kintija Auzina will start her studies at the University of Tubingen, Germany.
Kintija Auzina, first-year MA student of the Faculty of History and Philosophy, aiming at better and more in-depth research of the Master’s programme, applied for the Kurt Hagen’s scholarship to study in the partner universities in Germany.
„ My research is centered on Immanuel Kant’s studies. Kant is regarded as one of the most prominent German thinkers. In my research I am going to focus on Kant’s ethical reasoning. I have already started the research on Kant’s ethics, its basic and problematic issues in my Bachelor’s thesis „ Imperative issues of Kant’s works”. Most of the research work took place at the University of Tubingen within the
ERASMUS Programme. The quality of the work has been achieved largley due to the semester- studies at the UT, deliberately chosen because of the Kant’s high- level study presentation there. The UT with its library, varied range of courses available, the opportunity to consult with experts in the field can deepen my knowledge and enhance my MA thesis development,” Kintija Auzina says.
Thanks to the Riga- born Patron Kurt Hagen (1916- 2000), who willed 2.4 million euros to the UL, up to 7 master and doctoral students will be able to apply for the scholarships with a total amount of 50,000 euros awarded each year and gain experience studying in the UL partner universities in Germany.
Applications for Kurt Hagen’s scholarship are accepted twice a year - from October, 31 to December, 31 for the spring semester and from March, 31 to May, 31- for the fall semester.
