The Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences (FMLS) of the University of Latvia was established in 2024 by merging the Faculties of Biology, Chemistry, and Medicine, along with the Institute of Biology, Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology, Institute of Cardiology and Regenerative Medicine, and Institute of Clinical and Preventive Medicine. This integrated approach offers a wide range of study programmes, covering the research of all living beings, the impact of chemicals on health, and modern medical technologies.

FMLS inspires students to understand the complexities of life and promotes the advancement of scientific research, creating new opportunities in healthcare and life sciences. The faculty's goal is to provide high-quality education and prepare students for successful careers and lives dedicated to improving public health and well-being.

Studies of the FMLS take place at:

  • Jelgavas iela 1 - biology and chemistry study programmes;
