From 1 July 2024, as part of the consolidation of the University of Latvia (UL), several units of the UL will continue to work in the joint Faculty of Humanities (FH), bringing together the previously known Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Theology, Faculty of History and Philosophy, Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Latvian Language Institute, Institute of Latvian History, Livonian Institute and International Institute of Indic Studies.
FH offers studies in languages, culture, philosophy, history, archaeology, theology, and religious research across eight bachelor’s, seven master’s and four doctoral programmes.
Until the opening of the House of Letters at the UL Academic Centre in Torņakalns, studies of the FH will take place at:
- Visvalža iela 4a – language and culture study programmes;
- Aspazijas bulvāris 5 – history and philosophy study programmes;
- Raiņa bulvāris 19 – theology and religious research study programmes.
