The Digital Transformation Department consists of the Process Analysis Unit and the Digital Systems Development Unit.
Our mission is to integrate the values, processes, functions, and services of the University of Latvia (UL) into a unified system and ensure their optimal operation through digital solutions. We strive to establish a cohesive, standardised, and continuous digital transformation management aligned with UL’s strategic goals.
To fulfill its objectives, the department collaborates with service providers, process owners, the Safety Risk Management Unit, internal audit teams, and the Information Technology Service.
The Process Analysis Unit conducts process audits, mapping, analysis, and optimisation across UL to evaluate opportunities for digitalisation and efficiency improvements. The unit provides recommendations on service design methodologies, supports their implementation and oversight, and ensures the successful integration of optimised processes.
The Digital Systems Development Unit is responsible for developing and updating the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategy, overseeing ICT budget management, and supervising ICT procurement processes. Additionally, the unit defines ICT project implementation methodologies to ensure the effective deployment of digital solutions.
